Located along Highway 9, north of Fairplay and south of the Hoosier Pass summit, Alma is the first town racers will encounter after the grueling climb over Hooiser Pass from Breckenridge. Residing at the feet of five 14,000-foot peaks at an elevation of approximately 10,578 feet, Alma is the second highest incorporated municipality in the United States.
Spectators and racers will be greeted with stunning views of many Colorado fourteenrs between Breckenridge and Fairplay. The highest peaks in the range along the race route are Mt. Lincoln (14,148 ft.), Quandry Peak (14,265 ft.), Mt. Bross (14,172 ft.), Mt. Democrat (14,148 ft), and Mt. Sherman (14,036 ft).
