As with any event of this magnitude, there will be some local impact during each race. Expect brief rolling road closures along all race routes and modified public transportation schedules to accommodate each stage. A "rolling road closure" is when we use official race vehicles and Colorado State Patrol vehicles to gradually slow down the following motorists and then stop them temporarily to allow the race to flow through the area of the rolling closure.
Please reference the information below while planning your viewing access and travel during each stage.

STAGE 1: Breckenridge to Beaver Creek Road Race
To view a Stage 1 course map, click here.
- Rolling closures implemented along the majority of the course including Main Street Breckenridge, Hwy. 9 Hoosier Pass, U.S. 285 South, U.S. 24 North between Buena Vista & Leadville, Main Street Leadville, U.S. 24 Tennessee Pass and Battle Mountain Pass, Main Street Minturn, Highway 6 from Minturn to Avon and all access points to Beaver Creek Village.
- Traffic can follow the race but never pass the race.
- Traffic can cross the race course in front of the race and generally turn in the same direction of the race until a few minutes before the lead Colorado State Patrol car (2 miles) reaches a given intersection.
- Traffic coming into the race is managed based on the nature of the road and the volume of traffic and types of opportunities to divert the traffic. (alternate routes, pull-offs, etc.)
- Rolling road closures at 3 mountain passes: Hoosier Pass, Tennessee Pass, and Battle Mountain Pass. Expect a longer impact along all mountain pass areas.
- Estimated vehicle holds at Minturn, Red Cliff, Camp Hale to be up to 40 minutes (may be longer depending on breakaways).
- Note that Village Road, granting the only access to Beaver Creek Village will experience a full closure between approximately 3-4pm limiting access immediatly prior to race arrival.
- Unobstructed access to Leadville will be available via I-70 and Freemont Pass/ Highway 91 between Copper Mountain and Leadville.
- Take note of variable message boards along I-70 and all race routes offering information for detours and alternate routes.
- Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.

- The Main Vail roundabout will be open with access in and out of the Vail Village parking Structure and LionsHead parking structure.

- During race times, approximately 10am to 1pm, access in and out of residential areas along the south side of I 70 from West Vail to the Vail Golf Course will be heavily impacted.
- The general rule of thumb for residential areas directly impacted by the circuit race course will be that access exiting from these areas will only be accommodated on an emergency basis. - Town of Vail bus system will run modified bus routes to accommodate the race (see bus schedules).
- Take note of variable message boards along I-70 and all race routes offering information for detours and alternate routes.
